About This Tool

Find & Replace Text is a versatile text processing tool that lets you search for words, phrases, or patterns inside any block of text and replace them with something else. It is useful for bulk renaming variables across a code snippet, updating terminology in a document draft, anonymising names in sample data, fixing typos across long text, and much more.

The tool supports full JavaScript regular expression syntax when Use Regex is enabled, allowing complex pattern matching such as \d+ for numbers, \b\w+\b for whole words, or capture groups with $1 $2 references in the replacement string. Case sensitivity can be toggled independently, and Replace All controls whether every match or only the first match is replaced. The match count displayed above the output keeps you informed of how many substitutions will be made before you commit to copying the result.

Everything runs in real time in your browser using Angular computed signals, so the output updates instantly as you type in any field. There is no server processing and no character limit. This makes it a fast alternative to using a text editor's built-in find-replace when you need to quickly process pasted content without opening a full application.

  4. 4. Copy the updated text from the output panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this support regular expressions?

Yes — toggle the "Regex" option to use full JavaScript regular expression patterns for find. This lets you match patterns like all numbers, emails, or specific word boundaries.

Can I replace only the first occurrence?

Yes — toggle off "Replace All" to replace only the first match found in the text.

Is case-sensitive matching available?

Yes — by default matching is case-insensitive. Enable case-sensitive mode when you need exact case matching.

What does the match count show?

The match count tells you how many times the search term appears in your text before replacement, helping you verify the replacement will affect the right number of occurrences.

Is there a text size limit?

No limit — the tool processes everything locally in your browser.
