Frequently Asked Questions
Is this salary slip generator completely free?
Yes, 100% free with no hidden costs, no sign-up, and no subscription required. Create as many payslips as you need directly in your browser.
How is net pay calculated?
Net Pay is your total earnings (Basic, HRA, allowances, etc.) minus your total deductions (PF, professional tax, TDS, etc.). Both lists are itemised and totalled automatically as you type.
Can I add custom earnings or deductions?
Yes. Add as many earning or deduction lines as you need in the Earnings and Deductions tabs — each with its own label and amount.
Can I download the payslip as a PDF?
Yes. Click "Download PDF" and use your browser's print dialog to save as PDF. The payslip is designed to print cleanly on A4 paper.
Is my data stored on any server?
No. All your data stays in your browser's local storage. The details you enter are not sent to any server, so payroll information stays completely private.
Can I save and resume my payslip later?
Yes. Click "Save Draft" to store your payslip in the browser. It will be automatically loaded the next time you visit the page.

Guide
How to prepare a salary slip with earnings, deductions and net pay
This is a template for producing a payslip from figures you already have. You enter the company and employee details, list each earning and each deduction as its own line, and the tool totals gross earnings, total deductions and net pay, then writes the net amount in words. The result appears in an A4 preview that you can print or save as a PDF through your browser.
It is meant for legitimate payroll documentation: a small employer preparing slips for staff, or a person tidying their own pay records. The figures must be true. Do not use it to produce a payslip for employment or income that does not exist, or to alter amounts on a slip for a loan, visa or tenancy application; that can be illegal and the recipient may verify it. The tool does not calculate PF, professional tax or income tax for you, so those amounts come from your payroll records.
Step by step
- In the Company tab add the company name and registered address, and optionally upload a logo.
- In the Employee tab fill in name, employee ID, designation, department, date of joining, PAN (optional) and bank account number.
- In the Period tab set the pay month, payment date, paid days and total working days, payment mode (Bank Transfer, Cheque, Cash or UPI) and currency.
- In the Earnings tab edit the two starting lines (Basic Salary and House Rent Allowance) and use the add button for extra lines such as special allowance or bonus.
- In the Deductions tab edit Provident Fund and Professional Tax and add lines such as TDS or loan recovery. Gross Earnings and Total Deductions show beneath each list.
- In Settings change the notes text, add an authorised signature or hide the signature area, and pick a colour. Review the preview, then click Download PDF to open the print dialog and choose Save as PDF.
When this is useful
- A small business owner issuing monthly payslips to a handful of employees.
- A freelancer or household employer keeping a formal record of wages paid.
- An employee reconstructing a lost slip from their own genuine payroll data, for personal records.
- A startup that has no payroll software yet and wants a consistent format before adopting one.
- An accountant preparing a clean copy of figures that were already computed elsewhere.
Worked example: A monthly slip for a software engineer
For September 2026 the company enters Basic Salary 40,000, House Rent Allowance 16,000 and an added line, Special Allowance 14,000. Gross earnings show as 70,000.00. Under Deductions it enters Provident Fund 4,800, Professional Tax 200 and TDS 2,500, for total deductions of 7,500.00. Net pay is 62,500.00, written out as Sixty Two Thousand Five Hundred Rupees Only. With Paid Days 30 out of 30, the slip prints "30 / 30". These deduction amounts are illustrations; real figures depend on the employer's policy, the state and the employee's tax position.
Tips for better results
- Prepare the numbers first, from your payroll sheet, and then type them in. The tool adds; it does not decide.
- Use clear line names such as "Special Allowance" rather than generic ones, so the slip is easy to read.
- Match the pay period and payment date to what actually happened, since both print on the slip.
- Save a copy of the PDF each month under a consistent file name.
- Keep the default note about computer-generated slips unless your company has its own wording.
Common mistakes
- Expecting paid days to change the pay. Paid Days and Total Working Days are printed for reference only; any loss of pay has to be reflected in your earnings amounts.
- Entering an amount in the wrong list, for example a deduction under Earnings, which inflates net pay.
- Typing figures that do not match bank credits. Net pay should equal what was actually paid.
- Leaving statutory deductions out because the tool does not add them. Enter PF, professional tax and TDS yourself.
- Using the tool for any document that misstates income. Besides the legal risk, lenders and employers can cross-check against bank records.
Your files and privacy
The slip is assembled in your browser. When you press Save Draft or Download PDF, the details (including any uploaded logo or signature, and the bank account number if you typed one) are kept in this browser's local storage until you clear them with the Clear button. The form data is not uploaded. Opening the page records an anonymous usage event (tool name and random session identifier), and the WhatsApp and email buttons only open those apps with a short text when you click them.
Frequently asked questions
Does the tool calculate PF, tax or professional tax?
No. You enter each earning and deduction yourself, and the tool only adds the lists and subtracts the total deductions from gross earnings. Take the amounts from your payroll policy and statutory rules.
Can I add more than two earnings and deductions?
Yes. Use the add button in either tab to create more lines, each with its own label and amount. You can remove lines, but at least one line must remain in each list.
Is a computer-generated slip valid without a signature?
Practices differ between employers and recipients. The tool lets you either upload an authorised signature or keep the note that the slip is computer-generated, but whether a particular bank, visa office or landlord accepts it is their decision.
Can I use this to create a slip for a loan or visa application?
Only if the slip reflects real, accurate employment and pay. Fabricating or altering a payslip is unlawful and lenders commonly verify with the employer or bank statements.
Where is the net pay in words from?
The tool converts the net figure into words using Indian lakh and crore grouping for INR, and million-style grouping for other currencies. It is generated automatically, so check it against the number.
Does it work for other currencies?
Yes. You can choose INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, CAD, AUD or SGD. The slip labels and amounts follow the chosen currency, but the statutory lines you add are up to you.
