About This Tool
Whether you're a designer, developer, photographer, or artist, identifying exact color codes from real images is a daily challenge. UseToolify's Color Picker from Image tool solves this instantly — no installs, no plugins, no uploads to any server.
After uploading your image, the tool renders it on an HTML5 Canvas element. Move your cursor over the image to preview the color under the pointer in real time, or click any pixel to lock in the selected color. The tool instantly shows you both the HEX code (e.g. #3A6BC8) and the RGB value (e.g. rgb(58, 107, 200)) — click either to copy it directly to your clipboard.
The automatic color palette feature uses a median-cut quantization algorithm to analyze thousands of pixel samples from your image and find the most dominant colors. By default it generates 8 colors, but you can adjust the palette size from 2 to 16 using the slider. The palette regenerates instantly — perfect for building design systems, extracting brand colors, or matching a photography mood.
Once you have your palette, click any swatch to copy its HEX code, or download the entire palette as a high-resolution PNG — complete with HEX and RGB codes labeled underneath each color block. Everything runs entirely in your browser. Your images are never uploaded anywhere, ensuring complete privacy.
