Frequently Asked Questions
What is color blindness?
Color vision deficiency (CVD) affects about 8% of men and 0.5% of women. The most common types are red-green color blindness (protanopia/deuteranopia), followed by blue-yellow (tritanopia) and complete achromatopsia.
How does this simulation work?
The tool applies color transformation matrices to each pixel of the uploaded image. These matrices approximate how different types of color blindness alter color perception.
Is the simulation 100% accurate?
The simulation is a mathematical approximation based on the Brettel/Viénot method, which is widely used in accessibility tools. It gives a very good indication of what colors look like to people with CVD.
Is my image stored anywhere?
No. Your image is processed entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
